That fifth sense which comes with summer, when the air is so hot you cant breath but you are okay with giving up breath for the beating rays of sunshine and vitamin d. The feeling in that moment is what I want to evoke in my work. I want to hit that single breathless moment that cannot be captured in any other way. Surroundings and comfortable objects have such an effect on me, they ground me and bring me back home. Color also takes me back to the rich warmth of my growing up years. My work is at an in-between point right now because I am at an in-between point in life. Still holding onto the past but not quite close enough to the future. My work embodies me and everything I feel and see. As a way of survival I always come back to imagining how surprisingly soft plants can be. |
I have lived most of my life in the countryside of Pennsylvania. I took college level courses during my high school career in both painting and sculpture at the closest University. I have been exposed to and participated in gallery exhibitions and openings. I have showed my own work in Space D9 Gallery in Seoul, Korea from 2017-2018, participating in both the Living Art Fair held in Gunsan City, Korea, and the Art Discovery in Paris in connection with Galerie New Image in Paris, France. I now go to school in New York, where I have gotten the feel of city life opposed to the farm fields. I have be immersed in rigorous studio practice for the past four years as a Painting major, and have touched over the business side of the art world through internships and outside research. In the past years, I attended countless art classes, conservation seminars and museum trips completing my Art History minor. I want to continue to paint while raising my knowledge and studies of the global art market.
